Prof K A Siddique Hasan, Founder of Vision Projects Passes Away
Prof Siddique Hasan was a renowned orator and author of many books.
Kerala: Prof K A Siddique Hasan, the chief architect of Delhi-based Vision 2026 passed away in Kozhikode on Tuesday after prolonged illness.
Prof Hassan had made his mark as a scholar, speaker and social activist and was highly regarded among not only in the community but also by the wider social and political leadership. He also served as the Kerala State President and National Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
His lasting contribution to the society at large consists in pioneering the socio-educational initiative in north and eastern India where the minorities live a life of economic and educational deprivation.
Prof Hasan was instrumental in the formation of Vision 2016 through Human Welfare Foundation forming the backbone of institutional support for the drive by establishing educational institutions, shelters for the homeless, water and sanitation projects, hospitals and medical care facilities.
Towards these ends, he served as general secretary of the Delhi-based Human Welfare Foundation, Human Welfare Trust, Society for Bright Future, Association for the Protection of Civil Rights (APCR) and Medical Society. Since 2016, the project has been re-launched as 2026 and is operational in twenty one states of the country.
The Vision projects he planned and implemented were later replicated by many across the country. His extraordinary willpower, dexterity and valiant nature led him to achieve what seemed impossible for many.
